2009/5/22 RWS Leavers 09 CeremonyToday was the last day for six formers of Royal Wolverhampton School. The leavers 2009 ceremony was rather brief but memorable, which just lasted for about one hour. The whole procedure included speeches from headmaster, governor, head boy and head girl, leavers' award presentation and leavers' music performance. Whenever it comes to saying goodbye, it is always full of emotional atmosphere. The speech by governor was quite inspiring and encouraging. "…For those who are about to go to university or college, have fun. For those who will start to work, good luck. Everyday is a gift, that's why we call it the present. We should make the best of every minute to live our life to the full. It is nice to be important, however, it is more important to be nice…"
----------End---------- 2009/5/6 Coldplay Sheffield Concert Video Clips Part IIFinally finished uploading these video clips to youtube. Though it was over six months ago, whenever I watch these videos again, it always reminds me of that fantastic night, absolutely the best night of my life... A flash, nearly 30 minutes long, was shown before the concert started... 《Life in Technicolor》
Openning Words by Chris Martin... 《In My Place》 《Trouble》 《Strawberry Swing》 《Cemeteries of London》 《42》
《Viva La Vida》 《The Scientist》 Will Champion's solo... 《Yellow》 Coldplay Video Clips Part I《Speed of Sound》 & 《Clock》 《Fix You》 《Violet Hill》 2009/5/5 Learning to use chopsticksChinese food is perhaps the most important part of Chinese culture known to the Western world since Chinese takeway, Chinese buffet and Chinese restaurants are everywhere all over the world. When it comes to Chinese food, chopsticks are of course the first thing to introduce. For some of the British kids, it was their first time to see Chinese chopsticks, which I brought all the way from China. It is human that people are fond of different things. So did them. It was really interesting to see these British kids try their best to use chopsticks, more in a funny way.
2009/5/3 Environmentally Friendly BritishBritish are quite aware of rubbish classification. The rubbish are classified into such a detailed category and the recycling signs are so clearly displayed that it can save people from the trouble of hesitating about which is which. Two thumbs up!!
2009/5/2 Hypocritical BritishBritish are quite hypocritical. They always like to ask others: “Are you all right?” or “Are you ok?” Unexceptionally, the reply is always: “Fine, I'm good. Thank you.” By far, I haven't heard a different reply to that kind of question. Sometime I just think, do the speaker really care what the reply is? Do they really concern about how you feel? Of course not. It's just a way of greeting. Kind of saying hello. So Chinese, whenever you are asked by that kind of question, don't take it too serious, though you are not all right, though you may have millions of things to complain about, just be polite to say: “I'm fine. Thank you.” If you are kind enough to ask back: “And you?” Believe me, British won't surprise you, they will definitely respond to you with: “I'm good. Thank you.”
p.s. However, if you are a Chinese lady, asked by a British "gentleman", that's another story.
2009/5/1 Bookish BritishBritish like reading. No matter where they are, say, underground, train, a bench in the garden, the steps in front of a museum, or in a café, a book or a piece of newspaper is something they will always have in their bag or their pocket. What's more, they are so obsessed with a game called “crossword puzzle”, which has become a part of their daily routine, especially for middle-ages. It is just so phenomenal…
